A network of microchurches multiplying throughout Chicago and beyond
What is a microchurch?
Our microchurches (sometimes called house churches) are small families of faith in Jesus, on mission together. In the Bible, a church is not a building. It’s not an event that you attend or content you can stream. Church is God’s people gathered together. When our microchurches gather, we seek to do so in a way that reflects this reality.
Our microchurches follow the Discovery Bible Study format: We share what we’re celebrating and struggling with and discuss the Word with an emphasis on how to apply it in our daily lives.

In addition to the benefits of a more family-style gathering, there are some advantages to the mission to bring the good news to the whole city. The period since COVID-19 began has seen the single greatest decline in church attendance in this country’s history. Additionally, there’s a growing segment of the population who list “none” as their religion when asked (also known as the “nones”). And in many cities like Chicago, this group is the largest and fastest-growing “religious” group. While they often believe in God, they’re not interested in organized religion or religious services.
For as much good as traditional churches have done and continue to do, a significant and growing part of the population will be especially difficult to reach with the good news of Jesus through traditional churches. We need varying approaches for the wide variety of people in this city.
